This partition has been designed as a traditional painting, depicting the beauty of an actual scene of nature. The work is characterized by a unique, and highly artistic expression which, while limited by the fact that all lines and forms must be produced in iron and precious metals, creates a three-dimensional depth to the work which cannot be created in two-dimensional media such as conventional paintings and graphics.
In this work, the expression of the rippling waves on the surface of the water have become an integral part of the picture itself, while at the same time forming the physical structure which supports the work. Gold leaf and the subtle shade gradations of oxidized silver leaf add to the overall effect of the expression. The design is especially striking as a partition, or wall decoration for large, spacious areas.
